A place where I discuss all things related to toddlers and motherhood!
As a clinical psychologist, published author, and mother to two cheeky young children, I get it. I’ve spent YEARS researching and filtering through the noise online, so you don’t have to.
Of course, we hope our children never encounter an unsafe stranger. We hope they will never be in a place where they have to scream and defend themselves against an unsafe person or stranger.
But, just as with other important life skills, this is an important life skill to teach our children. Begin to teach them about strangers around age 4 but start planting seeds during the toddler years.

my daughter turns 3 in April and I would love to see a video on laying the groundwork for ‘stranger danger’.
It’s difficult to explain boundaries and consent, then require she let me brush her hair, take off her clothes, wash her body, etc even on the days she doesn’t want to.
Thanks! Your videos are great!
