A place where I discuss all things related to toddlers and motherhood!
As a clinical psychologist, published author, and mother to two cheeky young children, I get it. I’ve spent YEARS researching and filtering through the noise online, so you don’t have to.
Did you know tantrums & aggressive behaviors are common in the early years?
Yup, that’s right.
Your child’s brain is still growing so skills like communication, emotional regulation and conflict resolution are still not fully developed.
While this is true, there are things you can do at home to help your child learn tools to manage their big feelings like anger.
While this won’t ensure they’re perfect at regulating their big emotions (heck, us adults still struggle with this from time to time), it will make it more likely they will remember these tools in the heat of the moment.
I know how stressful it can be to deal with an angry child who is yelling, throwing things, snatching toys, and getting aggressive with you or their siblings/peers.
One of my biggest recommendations for teaching children new skills, like anger management, is to read children’s books on the topic. Children’s books are relatable, engaging, and a great way to ensure you keep the conversation going.
In today’s video, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite children’s books that will help your child with anger management.
